Tezz (1992, Nijmegen) is an artist who began her career in 2013 in the painting department of Aki in Enschede. She completed a Masters in Fine Art as the recipient of the Patrick and Kelly Lynch Scholarship at UAL in London, and later pursued another program at the Royal Drawing School in London, where she currently resides. Tezz creates large-scale pastel drawings that explore social themes such as identity, power dynamics, the internet, pop culture, consumerism, and other social structures. She works from memory and photo collages to examine the processes of manipulation and selective memory. Her works are often imposing and immersive, drawing viewers into the narrative. For the Tankstation Cultureel Vulpunt, Tezz will exhibit parts of her existing collection as well as specially created works for this exhibition.

Tezz (1992, Nijmegen) begon haar carrière in 2013 op de schildersafdeling van de Aki in Enschede, en voltooide daarna een masters in Fine Art als ontvanger van de Patrick and Kelly Lynch Scholarship aan de UAL in London. Daarna voltooide ze nóg een programma, ditmaal aan de Royal Drawing School in Londen, waar ze nog steeds woonachtig is. Tezz maakt pasteltekeningen, waarbij sociale thema’s de bovenhand voeren; identiteit, machtsverhoudingen, internet, popcultuur, consumentisme en ander soort sociale structuren zijn aanwezig in de thematiek van haar werk. Ze werkt vanuit geheugen en fotocollages om het proces van manipulatie en selectief geheugen te onderzoeken. De werken zijn veelal imposant en groot van formaat, waar je als kijker wordt ingetrokken en gedwongen wordt jezelf onder te dompelen in het verhaal. Voor Tankstation Cultureel Vulpunt stelt Tezz naast delen van haar bestaande collectie ook speciaal voor deze expositie gemaakte werken tentoon.
