Diane, a single mother, tries to get her troubled teenage son back on track. Steve can be very sweet and gentle, but at other times extremely busy and even violent at times. Diane has a hard time controlling Steve's moods. A new friendship with a shy neighbor, who clicks with both mother and son, seems to turn the tide.

Mommy, the fifth film by 26-year-old Xavier Dolan, is a beautiful and warm portrait of the intense bond between mother and son. Mommy won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
